Celina Aluminum Precision Technology (CAPT) hired CDL to design a new R&D facility that would showcase this manufacturing company’s developing technologies in a sleek and modern way. The client manufactured pistons and cylinder heads which inspired the new facility’s aesthetic. The building’s curved form and metal accent bands hint at the technological innovation integral to the company.

On the exterior, a glass curtain wall allows abundant natural light into the work areas, which house the engineering staff. Towards the building's back, the programs included testing areas, specialty labs, x-ray labs, and mechanical rooms. Unique equipment, such as a small melting furnace and other production equipment, were important elements in the technical planning and design of the building.
